STUDY PROGRAMMES FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED PRIOR TO THE 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR

STUDY PROGRAMMES FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED AFTER THE 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR

Academic first-level courses

The didactic offer of the “F.A. Bonporti” Conservatoire of Music in Trento, with respect to the first-level academic courses, will take on an ordinal form starting from the academic year 2010-11.

This project is developed in a function of integrating, in the new form, the Schools and Courses of the previous regulations already active at the Conservatoire, as well as the experimental Three-year Upper Level Courses, which the Conservatoire of Trento has been authorised to activate in recent years.

The new organisation responds to a set of regulations, which provide it with guidelines, definitions and determinations. These are, in particular, Presidential Decree no. 212/05 – Regulations governing the definition of the didactic regulations of the Institutions of High Artistic, Musical and Coreutical Education, pursuant to Article 2 of Law no. 508 of 21 December 1999; Ministerial Decree no. 90 of 3 July 2009 – Artistic-disciplinary sectors of the Music Conservatories); Ministerial Decree no. 154 of 12 November 2009 (types of training activities and credit-hour ratio).

The following is an outline of the educational curriculum that the “F.A. Bonporti” Conservatoire of Music draws up and proposes to its users for the first academic level.

From the previous system and experimentally activated three-year courses, towards the system of first-level academic courses.

The Conservatoire of Trento, in accordance with the criteria established by Presidential Decree 212/2005, and furthermore by Ministerial Decrees 90/2009 (disciplinary sectors), 124/2009 (didactic regulations for first-level academic courses), 154/2009 (ratio of credit hours) has drawn up its own educational offer of new first-level regulations, activated starting from the academic year 2010-11, primarily with reference to the courses already active at its premises, including those in an experimental form.

Admission and registration programme

As of the academic year 2010-11, the first-level academic courses become regular. The experience of several years, produced through the activation of courses in an experimental form, is thus incorporated. With the organisation of the new first-level academic courses, these take over from the courses of the previous organisation. The new courses are structured in quite different terms. They are articulated over a three-year period, they are built in relation to a plurality of training areas and teachings. Multidisciplinary teaching is a strong condition. The teachings are integrated into an organic architecture and are also comparable on the basis of the measure of credits. The work associated with a teaching, an educational endeavour, finds its measure in the unit of academic credits. These represent the work that comes with a course, both in the form of lectures and the commitment required of students, as self-study. The combination of a carefully designed structure that connects training areas according to the functions that come to play in the architecture of a study plan, and of what the measures of credits that are connected to the courses propose in relations, relationships and balances, tends to construct training architectures where the local and the global refer to each other, moving along defined and clear lines of objectives.

For admission to a first-level academic course, it is necessary to produce a specific application and to take an entrance examination, which assesses the presence of the required entry competences and assigns any potential deficits. Required entry competences: aptitude, knowledge and technical skills appropriate to the level; good general musical culture; pre-academic training that allows a generally cohesive connection to the level of academic studies. For courses in which the pre-academic system is active, it is therefore necessary to demonstrate a level of preparation similar to that required for the competence exam C of the pre-academic system.

A prerequisite for attendance is possession of a 2nd level secondary school diploma (ex high school diploma), with the possibility, however, for the most deserving, to obtain it within the three-year period.
Attendance is incompatible with attendance of another two-year specialised second-level or three-year ordinary course. For students attending both a university course and an academic course at the Conservatoire at the same time, the criteria and procedures set out in Ministerial Decree 28/09/2011 will be adopted. Interested parties are required to submit this form to the teaching secretary’s office.
